June Swap Card

 We are almost caught up with our monthly cards. Summer is too nice a season to be indoors and lots of vacation and outings take precedence over crafting. I can't remember the name of the company, for sure, I think its Altenew. There are lots of options for the sentiment on the banner and I enjoyed getting my Copics out again.

Keri did this cute stand up card from a Stampin Up kit. Perfect timing for all the summer fun.

Stay tuned for the rest of the summer offerings... Likely in September. lol.

January Swap card

 Wait for it! 

Yes, the monthly Swap card between Keri and myself is back. It was a little painful getting started again (at least for me) but I'm happy to have a goal and a purpose again to get creating.

Keri made this lovely card, lots of heat embossing (she does such a good job) using a Stamp Set from Stampin UP.

May Card Swap

 Trying to get back into the swing of card making. Keri and I are going to attempt our Monthly swap. I started with a super easy copy card to get my mojo going....

Keri gave me a couple cards from her Paper Pumpkin collection. We are both trying to get back in the game. I loved these sweet cards...

October Swap Cards

 So I think Keri made her card for the You Pick challenge but as previously stated, I can't find anything or remember where her "real" swap cards is, so I'm going with this. Again, it's a stamp and die set from My Favourite Things and I believe the Celebrate is from Stampin Up.

How cute is that?

I did another Fall card using the Lawn Fawn set....

I love making Fall cards, the colours are always so rich and so nice to work with. Now lets hope my reno is done soon so I can get back to making some cards.

August Swap Cards

 Wow, it's been a hot minute since I've been on the Blog and the entire program has changed up. I guess I'll be learning another new system. Here it goes....

I've had these cards for awhile and never got around to posting. It's been super busy getting ready for my reno and living life. Haven't touched a craft since I did this card. Hopefully a little more time in the craft room once the summer activities are wrapped up.

I decided to get a start on my theme cards for the Fundraiser (which sadly is postponed until next Fall) I used the Lawn Fawn set. Can you guess the theme?

Nicole also used Lawn Fawn. She's our interactive girl, she likes the challenge this type of card presents. It's really cute..

Keri used a Stampin Up die set. Isn't it clever to do the sunflower in white?

There you have it. I'm so behind on the challenges but I'm not ready to throw in the towel yet.

July Swap Cards

Well it's been a hot minute since I last posted and its been crazy hot this summer. Not terribly conducive to sitting still (at least for me). Pathetically our guest participant had her card done and exchanged 26 days prior to mine. Whoops!

Anyway, it's always such a fun surprise to see what we are getting each month. I chose a Penny Black stamp that I was going to put in a garage sale because I had never used it. I only worked on it here and there a few minutes a day and it came together not too badly. I never do CAS cards so this was a good change of pace...

Keri used a new set from Stampin Up. Who doesn't love goats?

Nice to have a card that's a little more masculine. Isn't' it clever how she knotted the twine instead of tying a bow?

Nicole used a set from Simon Says Card kits from way back when. I think I gave away this bikini die and stamp set and know I'm regretting it..

I've got a few more blog posts ideas so maybe I'll step up my game. Stay tuned.

May Card Swap

It's been a hot minute since I posted. Lots of yardwork happening over here.
I added a card to my Covid Collection using this Lawn Fawn Set...

I loved the sentiment for this season of chaos and uncertainty...

Keri used a Stampin Up set and alcohol markers to create this stunning sunflower card...

And she always adds an extra touch to the inside..

Nicole used a Jennifer McGuire technique to create this beauty. Love the gold embossing...

The little dots in the background is just Copic marker. It matches so perfectly.
And there you have it. Another month in the books.

March Swap Card

Whaaaat? I'm ahead of my regularly scheduled posting.  We decided to move our monthly card due date to the beginning of the month, rather then the end. It always seemed like we were behind. So our April card will now be due at the beginning of April rather then the end. Looks like we are going to have some time to make that happen with the current Pandemic that is going on in the World.

Keri had requested a Pet Sympathy card to have on hand so I obliged with this one using my favourite kraft and a lovely sentiment from Taylored Expressions...

Keri used her Splotch stamp and then heat embossed it for extra sparkle to make this card....

And some cute little butterflies from Michaels. So nice to see the fresh Springy colours. May the little things, bring you joy!

July Swap Card

Whaat? How did I fall so far behind? Life is busy. We did swap these cards awhile ago but I won't lie we are not keeping up (or I should say I am not!)
Keri used the Stampin Up set, I believe is called Cocktail hour to make this gold on gold birthday card...

This might be the set she used. LOL....

But I could be wrong.

I did a cute Fall card using one of my MFT Pure Innocence sets...

I just love paper piecing. Then all your patterned paper coordinates.
This is the set that I used. Its called Sending Blessings.

I'm hoping to visit the My Favourite Things store when I'm back in Florida. It's always a fun roadtrip.

March Swap Card

Am I really this far behind?  I still haven't posted our Swap card for March so here it is..
I made a fairly basic card using the cute doggie and heart from Sunny Studios Pet Sympathy set...

I think I was trying to follow a sketch. I think the card is too large for the image but it's cute enough for many occasions..

Keri used the cute I'm SO Hoppy set from Stampin' Up to make this sweet card...

February Swap Card

It feels good to be caught up with our monthly swap. I love that we are keeping it going. It's probably the only thing that encourages me to make a card a month (other then what I'm working on for Loonies for Lindor).

This time Keri used another set from SaleABration to make this cute birthday card....

I love all things gingham and the purple is such a change of pace. Beautiful colour that isn't used that often. Here's the set she used....

I was lucky enough to borrow a set of dies from another friend. Even though I have my own Stitched Blooms dies, this set was just different enough that I wanted to try it. There are so many possible colour combinations. I can't wait to cut out a few more for a totally different look.

I even put a little flower on the inside and one on the envelope for an extra special touch. Here's the set I borrowed. It's MFT Dienamics Stitched Blooms...

I've been doing quite well with my regular posting. I hope to continue the trend.

January Swap Card

Yes, you read that correctly. We were quite a bit behind so we got together and swapped January's card and Feb card. We swap at the end of the month so it always seems like we're behind but this month we were REALLY behind.

Funnily enough (is that a word?) Keri and I both did sympathy.

I used a Memory Box butterfly and backed it with glitter paper but the new product I used was the Hero Arts Ribbon Messages Stamp and Cut.

An Evening of Card Making

I recently spent an lovely evening of Card making with my local Stampin Up Instructor. Thanks Micheline. It was my first time attending such an event and as I'm not that familiar with the products, it was fun to see what's new in the catalogues and learn some new techniques.


I adored the coloured and printed vellum that this card used.

This card used a fun froggie and the best part was that the clear hearts could be coloured with markers! Who knew?

I loved the layering technique of this next card and the coloured image was beautiful also...

The next card used a beautiful die and lovely foil paper. I left it kind of plain as I'm not sure how I will use it so I haven't added a sentiment and additional hearts yet....

The background is a really subtle embossing folder. Hard to see in the photo.

So lots of fun and I'm looking forward to trying this again.

June Card Swap Challenge

It usually takes me to the middle of the month to post our Swap cards but I'm right on the ball this month. Maybe it's because we are in the middle of a heat wave and it's almost unbearable to go outside.
Keri used a set from Stampin Up. The gold on the card is washi tape to coordinate with the gold edged envelope. I love that the envelope is special. She stamped the flower several times and used pencil crayons to colour. I really want to use this multiple stamping style one day soon.

I used a set that I purchased recently at my local SS. As a baker, I just knew I had to have it. The little cross hatches for the peanut butter cookie were just too much. The stamp set had matching dies and I used a couple different techniques...

I inked the edges of the cookies to give them a freshly baked appearance and I heat embossed the Milk in white. I wanted to use Nuvo drops to make the red sprinkles look more authentic but I didn't have the exact shade of red that I needed. I will definitely try that technique another time.

So I'm off to a roaring start for the month. Happy July 1st.
