I was asked to participate in another Card Swap, so much fun to get all the different cards and see what everybody makes but it takes a fair bit of time to make 13 of one type of card and I'm finding I'm not getting to my individual challenges.
I always make my BFF guess which one of the cards I made and she's usually pretty good at picking out mine but this time I tricked her a little bit. I used a pre-coloured illustration from Sassy Cheryl. Huge time savings when you are making multiple cards so even though she had me narrowed down to 3, it threw her off a bit. I love how this card turned out. It looks simple but it had many parts to it, some embossing, some glamour dusting, some diecutting and I tried to step up my game on the interior.
I'm linking up to Sassy Cheryl's Show ME Thursday challenge so she knows I'm not just baking every week.

My Favourite Card of 2013
I am quite fond of many of the cards that I created in 2013. In fact, so fond of them that I sent less then a handful. Maybe that will change in 2014. I'll be organized and have everybody's card pre-addressed by month of birthday or celebration. Not likely, but it does give one incentive to continue producing cards.
This card was based on a Sketch from Sassy Cheryl and I love how it turned out. A different colour scheme and a different type of card then I would normally make. It's a keeper!
I am linking up to Challenge #196 Sassy Cheryl's Digi Challenge Blog. Time to get back in the "game".

Graduation Card
Just getting back in the swing of things after a great road trip to Lexington, Nashville and Memphis.
Before I left I was able to make (and give away) this cute grad card featuring a Sassy Cheryl image. She has a cap on so I decided to put it in this week's Challenge # 174 "Hat's On"
Looks like my Copic shading with the C's could use a bit of work but I think she's pretty adorable. Almost as cute as the gorgeous girl who received the card. Here's my beautiful "god"daughter after earning her Master's in Environmental Studies from Queen's University. I made this card especially for her to celebrate her achievement. Congratulations and well done, Riley!

Birthday Card for a boy!
Yay! I finally scrounged up a bit of free time to work on this week's challenge at Sassy Cheryl's.
The theme this week was Guy/Boy card and I used the image that I think is just called Boy with Balloon. I tried to use a couple new things... the cloud dies and a couple biggie brads that I had on hand. Always happy when I finally use something that I have never used before.
So here he is; boy cards always come in handy....
And here's a shout-out to all the guys out there for Father's Day including my own; the best DAD in the whole world. Happy Father's Day!

Lace and Handmade Flowers
This week's challenge at Sassy Cheryl's was #166 Lace and Handmade Flowers. I barely got it done in time for the deadline. We finally have some nice weather so there is lots to do outside.
It is the holiday Monday here in Ontario and I didn't have any lace so I had to make do with my very useful Martha Stewart corner punches and coordinating borders. I used white to try and make it look more lacey so it didn't stand out quite so well as I had hoped but I was happy to get it done and I love this little girl with her bathing cap. Somehow, bathing caps never looked quite so cute when WE had to wear them.

Sassy Cheryl Challenge #165 GIRLS RULE!
For this week's challenge at Sassy Cheryl, I used the digi stamp, Bowlegged. I coloured her up with my Copics and used some bright spring-like colours to counter the freezing cold temperatures that we've been having today.Hope you like her.

Another Sketch Challenge
I found Challenge #162 - A Sketch, lived up to its name. I struggled with the dimensions at first and then used some different colours then usual and I love how the card turned out. Of course, when you start with an adorable image, the rest usually falls into place. I glossed the glass in the lantern and the nose on the dog etc. Here's Sassy Cheryl's Challenge for this week....
and here's the sketch, I based it on....
and the sentiment that went along with the stamp was so sweet, I had to include it on the inside of my card....

Challenge #161 Anything Goes
It's a freezing rain day here in Southern Ontario. Unbelievable in almost mid-April but a good day to stay indoors and catch up. This week's challenge at Sassy Cheryl's was Anything Goes. Having a farm background, I was delighted to use the little farmer girl; Farmer Sally. Nice to use some of the bright colours from the new My Mind's Eye "About a Boy". You can't really see but I glossed up the tomato and her boots and added a bit of sparkle to her hat because sadly, a few of my scrapping buddies thought she was a boy. That's ok, there is nothing wrong with farmer girls.
Here she is, I hope you like her.

Sassy Cheryl Weekly Challenge #160- A Sketch
I love working from a sketch. I find it so much easier to come up with a card when I have something to go by. Here's the sketch from this week's Sassy Cheryl's Challenge.
I like to follow it right to the letter, so here's my card based on the sketch....
Here's hoping for camping weather, real soon!

Favourite Colour Combo
This week's challenge over at Sassy Cheryl's is Challenge 159; Favourite Colour Combo.
I tend to use teal and rose quite often when I colour and Sally Decorating Eggs was perfect for this Easter weekend.
The Copics I used for Sally were BG 11, 13 and 15 and R 83,85. Some of my favourites which I turn to time and again. I think Sally got a little too much sun on her face this weekend but we're not complaining.

Sassy Cheryl's Challenge 158 - Fancy Edges
This week's challenge at Sassy Cheryl's is Fancy Edges. I hope my edges are fancy enough for the challenge. I like simple designs but I thought this card worked out well. I used the image; Polly's Slice of Cake and my kindly, generous friend Corrina, cut the Happy Birthday for me on her Silhouette. I added a little glitter to give the icing dimension and popped up the flame.

Green, Orange and White
I actually finished my card for Sassy Cheryl's Digital challenge #157; Green, Orange and White early but some significant computer problems prevented me from posting it early. I used the adorable image Callie's Little Umbrella and you can't really see, but her boots and the umbrella have glossy accents as well as a little sparkle on her dress.

Sally Feeds the Birds
Here's my card for this week's challenge over at Sassy Cheryl's; Challenge 156 - Flowers, Flowers Everywhere. Well, not here in Southern Ontario. We still have 37 cm of snow on the ground that has to melt but it's starting slowly but surely. Spring is just around the corner. I know that because the skunks are back out.
The image I used was Sally Feeds the Birds. For the inside of the card, I left the sentiment blank for now but I wanted to try a technique that I spotted on a blog not that long ago. I love how it turned out!
Think Spring, everybody!

Avery's Big Flower
Yesterday, I was at a really great fund-raising Crop for Crohn's and Colitis and got to spend some time with a nice group of ladies. I hope they were very successful in their efforts to raise money for this cause. It was a 12 hour event but alas, I only completed 5 cards. Maybe a little too much time catching up with the friends? Regardless, I was really happy to visit, relax, win some prizes, and complete this week's challenge at Sassy Cheryl's,
This week the theme was monochromatic. Here's my take on Challenge #155 Blue...
I used the Digi; Avery's Big Flower. Still lovin' the challenges!

Polly and Butterscotch
Growing up I had a pair of New Zealand Red rabbits that I called Butterscotch and Caramel. They had the most beautiful coloured coats. Well you know what happens when you have a Buck and a doe! Eventually, I had more New Zealand Red rabbits then I could handle. Now I like my bunnies in stamp form.
This week's challenge from Sassy Cheryl was to use a sketch. Here's the sketch that was provided...
And here's my take on it. I used the Digi image; Polly and her Bunny Butterscotch. How great is that?

Back to Nature Card
The challenge this week at http://sassycherylschallenge.blogspot.ca is Back to nature. So according to my new goal to be more computer savy, I decided that I would purchase a few digital images so I could link up to her challenge.
Well, needless to say, this was the only image that I could figure out how to get onto my computer and resize and print. Still some challenges in the technology department for me, but I'm working on them. Anyhoo, I pulled out a snowflake embossing folder (for the first time), coloured up my snowman and here it is. Maybe I'll give it to my neighbour who snowblowed my driveway after 20 cm of snow fell Friday. I sure appreciated his help.
