Happy Birthday Lindor!

My sweet girl turned 8 today. She got a few liver snacks and some belly rubs but we'll have to celebrate tomorrow as I just got back from vacation.

Hopefully it will cool off a bit so we can enjoy a long walk.

CKC Novice A Title

We did it! After many months of travelling and practice, Lindor achieved her first Canadian Kennel Club Title in Rally Obedience at the London Canine Association show in Tillsonburg.

She had already completed her first leg and needed 2 more under a different judge. She scored 98 out of 100 in her second leg and a perfect score in her 3rd and qualifying leg.

Although she is almost 7 and starting to slow down, I underestimate how smart this girl is and how much she loves going out and about. We'll see what the future holds but maybe an Intermediate title will be in our future.

Kennel Club Progress

I had to take a bunch of photos to try and get a couple front and side shots of Lindor to send to the Kennel Club. She always wants to sit down or come close so her head always looks enormous.
There is still some snow in the backyard but fortunately not as much as in this photo.

Isn't she a pretty girl? On another note, here is her famous son Elvis meeting a (sort-of) famous person. Walter Gretzky, father of the Great One.

I remember when that puppy was born and we spotted the little white dot on his chest.

Twelve Days old

The pups are getting bigger everyday. Mom is working really hard trying to produce enough milk by eating over 12 cups of kibble a day. For the first 3 weeks, they will be totally dependent on her.

I have put Ric-Rac on the pups to tell them apart so I can make sure that everyone is gaining weight and doing well.

On Sunday, (Day 11), I saw the first glimmer of light in one of the pups eyes. On Monday, a few more spots of light were visible. In the next few days, there eyes should be completely open although it will be a week or more before they see clearly. They are also trying out their walking legs and trying to stand and toddle around. The smallest pups are usually better at this in the beginning.
